Wellington is a vibrant capital city which offers visitors and residents alike an exciting mix of arts, cultural and heritage attractions. For more than a decade, the Wellington Museums Trust has been a key mover on the scene; stimulating, challenging and delighting our audiences.
Around 700,000 people come to visit, see a show, go to an exhibition or attend a school programme at our facilities each year. We make a strong contribution to the region’s tourism and preserve a significant part of Wellington’s heritage through our museum collections and our stewardship of many of its historic buildings.
The Wellington Museums Trust manages City Gallery Wellington, Capital E, Museum of Wellington City & Sea, Wellington Cable Car Museum and Colonial Cottage Museum, and manages the New Zealand Cricket Museum jointly with the New Zealand Cricket Museum Trust.
